TV on the PC: Connect your Set Top Box via a computer network to your PC and watch television, including HDTV, on your PC using bitcontrol® Digital TV Link and bitcontrol® MPEG Decoder.

bitcontrol® Digital TV Link is a DirectShow® filter for multimedia applications running under MS Windows® 98/ME/NT/2K/XP/Vista. The software is not a stand-alone program but a component loaded by multimedia players when needed. Up to version 2.2, the name was bitcontrol® DreamBox Receiver.

The product is a streaming filter for video streams on the input of a multimedia player. The file name is “bcDTVLink.ax”. The following Devices can be used as a source of the video stream:

The bitcontrol® Digital TV Link application is able to play back the incoming TV stream as multicast into the network. In this mode the filter works like a video server.

Furthermore it is possible, to record the received MPEG-2 video signal as MPEG-2 file directly on hard disk. For this, the bitcontrol® Quad Recorder is recommended.

The recorded video file can be viewed in Windows Media® Player or attended in a video editing program.

The bitcontrol® Digital TV Link can be used in combination with

or other multimedia players (as longs as the programs are able to load DirectShow® filters).

The bitcontrol® Digital TV Link is by its high robustness in matters of errors (e.g. temporary signal intermission or bit errors) and good quality in matters of colour brilliance as well as in matters of correct colour reproduction. It can be used in the private „Home theatre PC - HTPC“ as well as in industrial products. For optimum performance, we strongly recommend using the bitcontrol® MPEG Decoder.
